YAY....

SO excited to see Michael this weekend! Back in Dennistoun where we belong. :)

Laugh it off.

You know it's not that bad
and I can see you in the morning.
Combing your black hair,
Well, you'll just come to tell,
"I know when it ends."

So, come on girl.
'Cause you will learn to get ahead.
We have nothing to lose,
And we can hold the weight of it.
If we wait for summer,
It will be better than this.

Sunday 29 January 2012

Night-time phone poem

We sat on the flag steps.
the tar-scented wind blowing
empty chip wrappers into our heads,
the rushing drone of
the water
Pushing little feet down.

The incensed cackle of gulls
was to be our soundtrack,
the click-whack, rollllll of tiny wheels
Our metronome.

Angry clouds rolled overhead
but kids don't care. The bigger boys jumped
Into the blackness
When mind-bendingly hot
days of summer advanced upon us,
Eagerly proving their toughness to girls

Waiting
On the hard ledge.

The summer pulled a sweet, danger-filled haze
over those citizens,
Whose hearts were taken from their chests
and wrung out daily into the stagnant froth.

Can't sleep poem

You're not like me.
The paper envelope of skin
Beneath my swirl-bottomed stamp is like the
stubby side of velcro to the touch...
iron shavings spilt all over cool enamel.
The winter
brought me back into the warmth,
Soft smouldering
chestnuts in a crumpled newspaper
Glint, '

'You made me real.'

My feelings
are true
Because I love them,
But you must perceive them
Else I cannot let them fly.

My sailing ship
Has great billowing clouds of alabaster,
An open page
So long as you hear me.

I'll make my journey on this sea
as long as you're near me.
Become the ebb and flow of my life,
So long as you listen,

I'll love you long as I can.
